Classical Atelier Mentorship

1. Application and Acceptance

1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all mentorship programmes, workshops, masterclasses, consultations, critiques, and online and in-person tuition provided by Nichola Eddery trading as Nichola Eddery Atelier ("the Atelier", "the Mentor", "we", "us").

1.2 By enrolling in a programme, booking tuition, or making payment, you ("the Student") confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1.3 The Atelier reserves the right to decline applications where a programme is not considered suitable for the Student's goals, experience, or level of commitment.

2. Tuition Programmes

2.1 All tuition is individually tailored to the Student's experience, objectives, and chosen area of study.

2.2 The Atelier reserves the right to recommend a more suitable programme where appropriate.

2.3 Depending on the programme, tuition may include:

• Private one-to-one lessons

• Live demonstrations

• Critiques and corrections

• Individual study plans

• Assignments

• Recommended reference material

• Professional guidance and portfolio advice

2.4 Teaching content and programme structure may be adapted throughout the course to reflect the Student's development.

2.5 Artistic development requires consistent independent study outside scheduled lessons. Whilst every effort is made to support each Student's progress, artistic outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

3. Scheduling and Attendance

3.1 Lessons are arranged by mutual agreement and scheduled according to UK time.

Online Tuition

3.2 Students are responsible for providing:

• A reliable internet connection

• Suitable art materials

• An appropriate workspace

• Adequate lighting and camera positioning

3.3 Where possible, Students are encouraged to use two devices—one for communication and one positioned above the drawing or painting surface.

In-Person Tuition

3.4 In-person tuition takes place at Nichola Eddery Atelier, Newmarket, Suffolk, unless otherwise agreed.

3.5 Students are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.

3.6 Students should bring their own art materials unless otherwise advised by the Atelier.

3.7 Students arriving late will still finish at the scheduled lesson time.

4. Payments and Refunds

4.1 Full payment is required no later than three days before the agreed programme start date to secure a booking.

4.2 All fees are payable in Pounds Sterling (£).

4.3 Payments may be made via the Atelier website using debit or credit card or via PayPal.

4.4 Where payment is made through an invoice provider, any non-refundable third-party processing fees incurred by the Atelier may be deducted from any refund issued before the programme has commenced.

4.5 Payment plans and instalments are not offered.

4.6 Once tuition has commenced, programme fees are non-refundable.

4.7 The Atelier reserves the right to suspend or terminate tuition where payment obligations have not been fulfilled.

5. Programme Duration

5.1 Tuition is available as:

• Single Lesson

• 4-Week Programme

• 8-Week Programme

• 12-Week Programme

• 24-Week Programme

5.2 The first lesson should normally take place within one month of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5.3 Programmes are intended to be completed within their stated duration to maintain continuity of learning.

5.4 Lessons and critiques should be scheduled consistently throughout the programme.

5.5 Students are normally limited to one live lesson and one Zoom critique per week unless otherwise agreed.

5.6 A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required to reschedule a lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be considered taken.

5.7 Missed lessons without notice are non-refundable and non-transferable.

5.8 Any unused lessons or programme components remaining after the programme concludes will be forfeited and cannot be refunded or transferred.

5.9 Extensions may be granted solely at the discretion of the Atelier.

6. Student Commitment

6.1 Tuition is designed for students committed to developing their artistic skills through regular practice and sustained study.

6.2 Students are expected to complete assignments, undertake independent practice, and actively engage with the programme.

6.3 The Atelier cannot guarantee artistic outcomes, professional success, commissions, exhibitions, or career advancement.

6.4 Progress varies according to each Student's commitment, practice, consistency, and individual development.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 All teaching methods, demonstrations, corrections, written materials, diagrams, videos, recordings, and educational resources remain the intellectual property of Nichola Eddery.

7.2 These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, published, taught, or used commercially without prior written permission.

7.3 Students may not record lessons.

8. Student Conduct

8.1 The Atelier is committed to maintaining a respectful and professional learning environment.

8.2 The Atelier reserves the right to suspend or terminate tuition where behaviour is abusive, disruptive, inappropriate, or disrespectful.

8.3 Refunds will not be issued where tuition is terminated for these reasons.

8.4 Tuition may also be terminated where a Student repeatedly fails to engage with the programme or communication breaks down for an extended period without reasonable explanation.

9. Circumstances Beyond Reasonable Control

9.1 Neither party shall be liable for delays or interruptions resulting from illness, internet failures, power outages, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

9.2 Where possible, alternative lesson arrangements will be offered.

10. Studio Safety

10.1 Students attending in-person tuition do so at their own risk.

10.2 The Atelier accepts no responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings.

10.3 Students are expected to follow all reasonable health and safety instructions whilst attending the studio.

11. Privacy & Student Artwork

11.1 Personal information provided by Students will be used solely for the administration and delivery of tuition.

11.2 Student artwork may occasionally be photographed or shared on the Atelier website or social media for educational or promotional purposes. Students may opt out at any time by notifying the Atelier in writing.

12. Availability

12.1 Programme places are limited.

12.2 Completion of one programme does not guarantee availability on a future programme. Students wishing to continue their studies are encouraged to book subsequent programmes in advance, subject to availability.

13. Governing Law

13.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

13.2 Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
